Getting Started
We're so glad you are interesting in volunteering in Falmouth Public Schools!
Through the Falmouth VIPS program, we have one of the longest-running and largest public school volunteer programs in the region. How can you contribute? The needs are great and the possibilities are almost endless. For most positions, there is no experience necessary and no special skills are required. Simply a willingness to help will qualify you for many jobs, ranging from a one-time to a weekly commitment. However, opportunities do exist for volunteers with special skills, interests, and backgrounds. Some opportunities require training which VIPS will provide. A list of general needs—some available at all schools, others geared for elementary-age students—is followed by a brief description of some of our core volunteer programs.
One of the first steps to volunteering in Falmouth Public Schools is to fill out our online Volunteer Registration Form, along with the CORI form. Please note that the Registration form can be submitted online, but the CORI form requires that you visit one of our schools, administrative office, or VIPS office in person, so that we can verify your photo ID.
If you are new to Falmouth and have no idea where you'd like to volunteer, please come visit us at the VIPS office, located at Falmouth High School. We will be happy to meet with you and find a perfect fit for your time, talents, and preferences.
If you know what school or what type of volunteering you'd like to do, you can work with our VIPS school liaisons. These volunteers are familiar with their schools, the needs of staff members and students, and will be able to get you started.
