Please join Falmouth VIPS as we plan the return of our in-person celebration of VIPS volunteers and community partners on June 14th. We are so looking forward to this year’s VIPS Volunteer Appreciation Event after two years without a gathering! This year’s event will have an entirely new look and feel: we’ll be setting sail on the Island Queen Ferry to enjoy a scenic 2-hour cruise of Falmouth’s beautiful coastline, departing Falmouth Harbor at 5:30 p.m.
The past two years have demonstrated the resilience, resourcefulness and dedication of our VIPS volunteers. Without missing a beat, they put the needs of students front and center, finding creative ways of staying involved and in touch. Our students knew they had the support of their mentors, tutors, academic coaches, and community partners throughout the pandemic, whether via zoom, email, postal mail, or phone. Now that we are back in person, it’s time to express our gratitude by celebrating together.
Some important notes about this year's event:
1. In case of inclement weather, the Island Queen has given us Wednesday, June 15th as our backup date.
2. Tickets are nonrefundable but they are transferable.
3. Parking at the Island Queen dock begins at 4:45 p.m. Due to prior sailings, earlier parking is not permitted. Carpooling is recommended!
4. Boarding begins at 5:15 p.m.
5. Catering on board will be by Eat Your Heart Out. Cash bar. No credit cards accepted!
6. Music will be provided by Sister Spin, so wear your dancing shoes (but remember, you're on a boat!)
7. Check the weather and dress appropriately (layers!)

A big part of our Volunteer Appreciation Event is celebrating the accomplishments of our VIPS volunteers. Is there a VIPS volunteer whose efforts are especially worthy of recognition? Nominate this volunteer for one of our Outstanding Volunteer of the Year awards! We present one award for each school. Not sure if the volunteer you're thinking of has won before? Check out the list on the nomination page, which lists all past recipients of the award.
